Elizabeth Ameke
I’m an aeronautical engineer working at the intersection of advanced materials and manufacturing, with experience spanning composites research, aviation safety, and airworthiness operations.
I earned my M.Eng. in Aeronautical Engineering (Materials & Structures) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) - USA, and my B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) - Ghana. I also hold a Business Certificate from Harvard Business School’s Crossroads Emerging Leaders Program in Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies and Launching Breakthrough Technologies.
Before graduate school, I worked in the Safety Department of PassionAir, where I served as an Aviation Safety Officer and Aircraft Technician. In that role, I worked on Safety Management Systems (SMS), Emergency Response Planning (ERP), and internal airline audits involving Dash 8 aircraft. I also interned with the Safety and Airworthiness Department of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
Beyond engineering, I co-founded Ed Emporia, an EdTech startup helping schools deliver hands-on STEM learning through kits, clubs, educator training, and The STEAMHub, reaching 3,000+ learners. I also co-founded GleeChild Initiative, a non-profit supporting 2,000+ children in Ghana with essentials that improve school readiness and retention.
I’m a Queen’s Young Leader and have been internationally recognized by communities, including the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Leading Ladies of Aerospace & Defense, and She Leads Africa. I also serve as the Young Adult & Youth (YAY) Council Leader for the National Council of Ghanaian Associations (NCOGA) in New York, focused on mentorship, career growth, and community-building for Ghanaian students and young professionals.
An ambassador for the Akua Kuenyehia Foundation and Women in Engineering Ghana, where I mentor students and speak on STEM pathways, higher education, and purpose-driven careers.
Whether in the lab, on the shop floor, or in the community, I care about building technical, operational, and human solutions that hold up in the real world.
